If any of you are members of amazon local then you might have seen recent promos. Yes! I will run a photography workshop starting in April.  During which we will go over photography- all need to know and understand basics. Towards end of the class well will conduct a short practice to test your skill with life model. Simple portraits in studio setting, so everyone can refresh their learning in actual field.

On the other note:

Yesterday, I had few hours to spare in favorite book place B&N: I hope most of you know about it. If you know what you are looking for, this store can be a gold mine. Anyhow, my attention was caught by colors and patters, and I decided to make something fun. Today's goal was to use colors and maybe in few days I will work with patterns. Here is color bomb!

After all the none-sense at the beginning of this year, I decided it still worth while to stay on instagram. Its a fun way to connect with other people and see what they are looking through their photography vision. Hope this post will find you well and we can connect on this social media. Just to be clear - I use instagram mostly for fun photography not my actual pro-shoots I do for work. Once in a while, you might see some images from my shoots but just want to be up front and not crash your expectations.

I had decided to start this year fresh and will do a series of head shots for actors, models etc.

This will help them to present the most recent image to clients, directors etc.

In the past few weeks I did some research and found some cool, creative way to shoot.

It actually took me a while to get back into blogging, I am still have not got use to post regularly.

Anyhow, this year we started fresh and had few project completed: very exciting news is that after we shot a young model she got signed by an agency.

So I hope more and more people will look into good quality photos instead of quantity ;=)

Its been very busy past few weeks - plan ; shoot; edit ; publish; contact; feedback. A lot goes on into schedule from finding a job to completing it. Well as of right now I feel caught up on my work but won't post final for few more days. Giving first hands to clients I think is a good thing.

Meanwhile, I had worked on another before and after piece.

On saturday we had shot with Yuni, during that shoot I had used my DIY sand bags ;-)

It worked great kept stands in balance and very mobile.  Next time I will take a photo from the set to show, in action photos.

For past few days I was working on editing images from weekend shoot with "Yuni Rain" artist from MJ Records. Now its time to meet with client and demonstrate final results. 

It happened and I found a way how to save some $$ and no its not black friday or cyber monday sale!

All you need is time, creativity, little budget, and be handy as it might require some tool work.

Lowest price per sand bag I found is $21

Here are details. how I made 4 sand bags

You will need ziplock bags (depending on how big sand bag you want) $4

Heavy duty duck tape $14 ( i had extra wide tape)

scissors (had it) $0

sand 50lb -$3.5

(extra few hooks) $4

sharp knife (had it) $0

Tap around perimeter of the bag just like this: make sure its half way on both sides.

Cover bag by building levels from bottom /up. I suggest to reach over on the back side for more durability.

Once you finish one side do the other side but try to off-set lines,

When you finish both sides, add similar lines you did at very beginning,

Now it is time to fill bags with sand. Make sure not to over fill as lock will not close and it will be useless.

Zip it carefully and tape it over. similar method you started with at start.

Instead of connecting  permanently I decided to create simple tags on corner (make sure to make it four layers or more-for durability)

Now make small whole in tag and out hook there:

Every time a photographer takes a photo : person that poses can not wait to see it. Well there are different ways to present photos as they come.

1) show display of the camera (not very efficient) since you have to be running back and forth all the time and take less shots.

2) tethered shooting into program (lightroom, captureone etc)

3) wifi

wifi option is awesome because there is no wire required to connect to computer, ipad etc and plus it can be viewed online within minutes as well. so it can be very helpful if your clients want to be involved but can not be present in studio or on location of the shoot.

I had just started to experiment with wifi connection and Lightroom so I will try to post a video in next few days.

Today was crazy day - with all the sales around my mind is going nuts. Will be updating some equipment this year and stepping with more options into 2013.

In mean time, I tried to keep my mind off - and worked on 3D graphics. So far this is a start! But it will be under development for few more days maybe a week. Had also, created album cover - sample- but still looked really cool. Will be posting that soon!

I am almost positive that people who live in NYC & NJ all were at pier 17. During summer or winter, maybe fall or even spring.

Well I ended up there with invite from friend of my "John". He created event to help beginning models to develop their portfolios and just have fun on set.

I had ended up arriving way before hand as I always like to have time search around, check out places and corners ;-)

It was not very demanding "surprisingly" but we had few kids show up and we had blast. I am sure as time goes by and event will get word spread, shooting area will be packed - either pier 17, central park, battery park etc.

HDR can be lots of fun as far you know your limits!

I had seen many images that catch your attention and then won't let it go for few minutes.

Well I had some time today (due to another storm) to work with some shots I took last year. Trying to bring some live to it, since at first it was a boring shot.

I must admit making HDR effect with some magic of new software, can give a boring shot so my life!

Today is very important day for the whole country!

Due to "Sandy" many people will have difficult time to get their vote in- but I hope government will do its best to assist those who in need.

I just came back from voting center!  Hopefully my candidate wins -)

November is here and I don't think I'm ready for this weather to take over our streets. Hopefully will get some warm days to get out and shoot. Since sky cleared out a little and we see sun once again.

In mean time to keep things updated had spend everyday on graphic design - here is another creation.

Due to the fact there is so much damage in area its been hard to go out and actually shoot.

So instead, I decided to work a little bit more on graphic design.

Always keeping busy!

After the disaster of Sandy - I decided it can be the time for me to get new start.

I had tried multiple times to get my blog going on daily basis but even few times a week will do for now.

Few things got done over past few days. Re-designed my web site and created new album of before and after album.

I had realized there are many people who are curious about how things getting done after photo been taken.

So for now I decide to show before/after images, and later on I will try to get some videos going for showing step by step tutorials.

Today I decided to use few hours of my day time and capture self-portrait.

Its not easy task to do, but if you know little tricks - you will get satisfying result.

Well, my results can be viewed on "about me" Page.

Bridal editorial shoot is coming up this Wednesday. All details are in and keeping fingers crossed for this weather not to freak out on the planned day.

Idea for editorial shoot is coming from "trash the dress" but not to destroy the master piece - and only create fun images that will stand out from traditional bridal images.

I do love traditional images but at the same time - I do love to create something with a kick ;-)

Lets see what this Wednesday will bring.

Hard work on Sunday from last week paid off really well. This morning displayed results of photography brought  very positive feedback - amazing feeling.

It wont be a reality if not very cool person "Fr. Ron" - the coolest priest I had ever met. He even beats Fr. John from college I went too.

Anyway, it is time to make some sales and bring some extra funds for St. John's Episcopal Church.

Looking forward to see demands raising for prints.
